Breast
Cancer Patients:
1. Reduce
scaring. If scar is completely healed apply a
small amount of lotion to the area and gently rub across the scar
applying enough pressure to achieve a low level of discomfort
for 5-10 minutes 2-3 times a day.
2. Use your affected arm as normally
as possible. Raise your arm up over your head
and out to the side of your body. This will help to maintain your
range of motion.
3. Sit in an upright posture.
Sit with your shoulder blades slightly pinched together and your
head placed in line with the tip of your shoulder.
Golf
Injury Patients:
Golf
Swing
1. Decrease your back swing to 75%
of max. This will decrease the loading force placed
on the low back during the rotational component of the back swing.
Your results will be decreased pain, increased accuracy and longer
distance.
2. Slightly shift your hips towards
your front stance leg. This mechanical positioning
will aid in increasing the amount of internal rotation of the
front hip, while decreasing the locking of the low back.
3. Decrease the width of your stance.
This modification will decrease the “over
the top” chopping movement that typically causes pain in
the lead side of the low back.
4. Reduce the rounding of the upper
back during your address posture to the ball.
This correction will allow for increase mid back extension, increase
the proper curve in the low back and provide core stability which
will result in greater control throughout the entire movement.
